Why install air valve and exhaust valve in sprinkler irrigation pipe system?

When the sprinkler irrigation pipe system starts to work, a part of air will often accumulate at the highest position of the system and the top of the pipe bulge. Even if there is no air at the beginning, the water will separate air during the flow. These air cannot be discharged at high places, which affects the water passing area on the one hand, and on the other hand, when the water flow rate increases, it will drive a part of the air to move in the pipe and cause hydraulic shock.
